As a single girl on a dating app I often get asked to send nudes. I have tried my luck interacting with people who communicate in limited English and are more fluent in Chinese. I am hopeless in Chinese, but I know enough to know the humour in mispronunciations. The word for nude in Chinese is the same romanization for snail, the tones are different but easily mispronounced if you're not a native speaker, or if you can't read chinese. 

A guy once asked me for nudes. I understood it, but sent him a snail instead. He replied saying NUDES not SNAILS! I replied saying oh! I told you my Chinese was bad!

He unmatched and blocked me.

I dodged a guy who has no humour and no patience to teach me Chinese.
